DESCRIPTION

NameCondonDescriptionJohn and Mary Condon (nee McMahon) arrived in Australia from Limerick, Ireland in 1860, settling at Stoney Creek, Croom and farming there for many years.

John's sister Ellen, and his uncles, James and Thomas Condon had arrived at settled at Shellharbour a few years earlier, in 1857.

John and Mary had a family of five; Francis Patrick, John Terrence, Maria Mary, James Denis and Daniel Edward.

In 1883, John, Mary and family moved with their family to Dunmore, farming that part of the Bassett-Darley Estate known as Clear Hills (part of Killalea State Park today)

Francis Patrick Condon married Margaret Agnes Buckley in 1890, and they rented the property known as 'Minnamurra' farm at Dunmore, later owned by Archie Fuller (who renamed the farm 'Killarney').

Francis and Margaret then moved to a neighboring property, 'Fairview'. They had nine children; Cecilia, Annie, Timothy, Mary, Elizabeth, Eileen, Evelyn, John, and Francis Jr.

James Denis Condon married Margaret Ann Henry in 1897.

Maria and Daniel did not marry. They later lived with their parents in Mary Street, Shellharbour.
