NameClear HillsTypeLandscapeDescriptionThe area, once known as Clear Hills, lies just west of Killalea State Park, and was part of Condon family farm 'Fairview' for generations. The farmhouse was built in 1903, just south of the hill overlooking the swamp.
In 1951, the farm was sold together with surrounding properties, to Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) Ltd. ICI intended to use the area to test explosives, but thankfully the project never eventuated.
'Fairview' fell in to disrepair and was subject to vandalism. The local fire brigade was given permission to burn the house down as part of a training exercise.
