DESCRIPTION
NameAlcornAlternative NameAldcornDescriptionSeveral Alcorn families came to Australia from County Tyrone, Ireland. We have not been able to establish a link between them as of yet.
Three William Alcorns came to Australia, and confusion has existed due to this.
WILLIAM ALCORN born 1830 Omah, Tyrone, Ireland, to Joseph and Mary Alcorn (nee Osborne). The date of his arrival has not been confirmed as family histories and obituary reports differ slightly. This William did come with, or after, Henry Osborne (his mother's brother), and lived with him at Dapto/Marshall Mount.
William married Margaret Dorrough in 1857 and lived at Dapto, before moving to Foxground, and retiring to Bowral. William and Margaret Alcorn had no children.

MARY-ANN ALCORN born 1843 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Warnock) arrived in Sydney with her sister, Elizabeth aboard 'Chance' in 1860, and also went to live with William and Margaret Alcorn.
