NameHamilton (Ebenezer and Rosannah Branch)DescriptionAccording to family descendants, James Hamilton arrived in Australia, from Dromore, County Tyrone, aboard 'Lady McDonald' in 1860. He was sponsored by his brother John Hamilton. (We have not been able to confirm this from shipping records)

John Hamilton, arrived in Australia aboard 'Switzerland' with wife Esther Fleming in 1854. The couple settled at Robertson.

In 1870, James Hamilton married Agnes Russell (daughter of Ebenezer Hamilton and Jane Meek), and they lived at Croom. They had three known children;

Ebenezer Hamilton b.1871 (married Rosannah Fleming, died 1953, Ashfield)
Lena b.1873 (died 1896, Jamberoo)
Mary b.1875 (died 1875, Jamberoo)

James died in 1908 at Jamberoo aged 74 years. His parents are not listed on the death registration.

Ebenezer and Rosannah Hamilton had 12 children;

Gordon Alexander b.1904 (married Florence Kelton, died 1981, Cootamundra)
Rosannah b.1906 (died 1906, Albion Park)
Kathleen Myrtle b.1908 (married Jack Walker, died 1991, Cootamundra)
Mervyn Russell b.1910 (married Colleen Theodora Davies, died 1987, Jamberoo)
Grace Evelyn b.1912 (married Headley Robert Walsh, died 1967

The family lived at James and Agnes Hamilton (Ebenezer’s parents) farm, now known as 'Kimmorley'.

Ebenezer and Rosannah had F Bidgood build them a new home in 1903, adjacent to ‘Kimmorley’ at Croom. They named it 'Seaview'.

Violet Agnes Hamilton married William Aubrey (Kell) Ward. Kell's father Tom Ward farmed at 'Glengowrie' in Swamp Road, Dunmore.
