NameWardDescriptionAccording to John Thomas Ward's obituary Kiama Independent 29 Feb 1936, his father Brown Ward came to Australia from Harringworth, England.

John Thomas (Tom) Ward was born and raised in the Jamberoo/Dunmore area.

Tom was a skilled woodworker, and many of the fences in the district were constructed by him. He lived for a time at Saddleback Mountain on the farm known as 'Wiley's'.

Tom married Mary Jane Tate, daughter of John Tate of Jamberoo and they had five children, Clifford, Kell, Ivy, Mary, and a son who died in infancy.

Tom later moved to 'Glengowrie' in Swamp Road at Dunmore, a farm once owned by the Bigg family. He took a great interest in the history of the district, with one of his lifelong friends remarking 'Tom Ward was a splendid link between the past generation and the present'.

After Mary Jane's death c.1915, Tom lived with his son Clifford.
