NameMcKinneryDescriptionTimothy McKinnery was born c.1830 in Limerick, Ireland to Daniel and Johanna McKinnery. He married Bridget Carroll (daughter of Matthew and Johanna) in 1852.
Five years later, in 1857, during the potato famine, Matthew and Johanna Carroll (aged 38 and 35) arrived in Australia from County Limerick, Ireland abord the 'Glen Isla'. They came with their son John, aged 12, and daughter Bridget (20), her husband, Timothy McKinnery (22) and their two children;

The McKinnery’s farmed on the Bassett/Darley Estate Shellharbour Lot 13, from 1857 to 1901, leasing from George Laurence Fuller of Dunmore.
The property had been farmed by Matthew Dorrough and family who came with Caroline Chisholm in 1843 on a clearing lease. The Dorrough family moved to the Dapto area, and Kangaloon then finally Dunoon on the North Coast of NSW.
Timothy and Bridget's sons Matthew and Edward McKinnery carried on the farm, leasing from the owner William Fuller Jnr, from 1911 to 1920 when the McKinnery brothers purchased the property.
In 1928, Thomas Daniel Whitfield built a new home 'Sunnyvale' for the McKinnery Bros.
Matthew died on 4 April 1946 aged 85 years, and Edward on 3 August 1951 aged 76 years.
About the time the McKinnery's finished farming the property, it was acquired by the Imperial Chemical Industries (I.C.I.)
