The brigade has only had 9 captains in its history. The longest serving captin was Barry Brotherson who held the position for 20 years between 1975 and 1995.

The Brigade met at Oak Flats Progress Hall until a new location was built in Fisher Street behind the Oak Flats Library. Along with protecting many properties, the volunteer members have assisted the St. Vincent de Paul with Christmas hampers over many years since 1978.
