When the fire station opened in January 1970, its first fire engine was a 50 year old, Denis fire truck, manufactured in Guilford, England.

The fire engine was capable of working efficiently and carried a pump with a max capacity of 250 gallons per minute. The truck could be driven at 45 mph.

The fire engine had spend a few weeks at the Wollongong Fire Station, where is was used for training purposes.

The Warilla Fire Brigade was a branch of the NSW Fire Board.
