The cottage on the left was the home of the Harbour Master. It was owned by the first Harbour Master, William Wilson.

Charles Bursill later became the Harbour Master. It is believed the Bursill family lived in this home, while Charles built a grander two-story home 'Seaside', adjacent (Addison Street), which the family lived in and operated as a guest house.
