William was engaged by Henry Osborne of Marshall Mount as a carpenter on the building of 'Marshall Mount House'. Seven more children were born in Australia.
Henry (Harry) Thomas born 1871, was the son of John and Maria Haslam, (and grandson of William and Sarah). He commenced farming at lot 71 known as ‘Clover Hill’ Macquarie Pass in 1894, later purchasing the property.

Harry married Mary James, daughter of pioneers William and Elizabeth James of Shellharbour in 1896, and most of Mary and Harry’s family were born at ‘Clover Hill’.

Harry and Mary had 10 children:

Ralph bn. 1897 married Jessie Roberts
Marie bn.1898 died 1983 unmarried
Ken bn.1900 married M Emerson.
Cecil bn.1902 married Molly McBride.
Gwendoline Mary bn.1904 married Roy Goodwin.
Don bn.1905 married Jean Wilson.
Olga Edith bn.1906 married Clive Andrew Goodwin.
Warwick Douglas bn.1912 enlisted in outbreak of World War Two, died 1943. (Accidently killed).
Victor bn.1914 married Pearl Alma Parrish.
Noel Francis bn.1916 enlisted in the A.I.F, died 1944.

In 1912, the Thomas' they moved to ‘St. Ives’ at Dunmore, leaving their son Kenneth to carry on farming at ‘Clover Hill’ until the property was sold to Ben Turner in 1950. (ref. One Hundred- and Thirty-Years Family Tree by Stan Thomas family history publication).

Harry served as a churchwarden and treasurer at St. Paul's Church of England and President of the Parents and Citizens Association.
