Miss Mary Anne Barrs worked for the Allen family for over 60 years, and it is presumed the Allen family gifted the home to Miss Barrs, who lived there for most of her adult life. On Miss Barrs death in 1925, she left the home to the Allen family. 'Windradene' is believed to have also been leased to tourists and holidaymakers in the early 20th century.
'Windradene' is one of the oldest remaining houses in Shellharbour.
