He married Catherine Phoebe Raftery, daughter of Thomas James and Charlotte Ann Raftery (nee Sawtell), at Albion Park in 1925. They had three daughters, Betty Margaret, Mary Veronica and Joan Catherine.

Betty married Austin Patrick O'Gorman, Mary married Claude James Harris, and Joan married Alan Marsden Grubb. Betty and Mary lived in Albion Park their whole lives.
