NameMcBarronDescriptionWilliam James McBarron was born 1882 near Robertson, to Hugh and Anne McBarron (nee Johnston).
William married Esther Ann Parish at Berry in 1915, and moved to Yellow Rock, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
William was an alderman of Shellharbour Council for 20 years and president of the Albion Park Show Society.
Reputedly, William was the one of the first in the district to own a wireless, and remembered the change from skimming cream from large shallow dishes of milk, to when the first cream separators were installed at the butter factories.
William and Esther had three children, Mary Elizabeth Jean (Darracot), Edward John Hedley, and Masie Evelyn (Hatch).
As adults, the McBarron children recounted their memories of Tullimbar Public School in a publication with the same name, developed with assistance from Shellharbour Council library staff in 1986.
