Charles Snr married Lavinia Pearson age 21, at Wollongong in 1860. Lavinia, also from Sussex, had arrived in the country the previous year, 1859, with her parents Robert and Anne, and siblings Isaac 17 and Alice 14.

Charles Gower Jnr married Henrietta Raison in 1905.
Henrietta's parents were Levi and Susan Raison (nee Hazelton). They farmed at Yellow Rock.
The Dudgeon's purchased the farm from Henrietta Gower after the death of her husband Charles in 1921. She acquired the lease of the adjoining farm that was later owned by Roy O'Gorman.
Charles and Henrietta had four children;

Charles Gower was a well-respected judge of the Australian Illawarra Shorthorn breed of cattle, and was engaged in breeding and AIS herd on what later became Dudgeon's farm 'Parkview' at Calderwood.
The Dudgeon family purchased the Gower farm from Henrietta Gower after the death of her husband Charles in 1921. Henrietta acquired the lease of the adjoining farm that was later owned by Roy O'Gorman.
Charles and Henrietta's daughter Edith Mabel Gower married Keith Grey who went on to become Mayor of Shellharbour.
