It was consecrated by Archbishop Polding with Archbishop Vaughan and visiting priests from neighbouring parishes present for the ceremony. The church was on the southern side of Tongarra Road and built on land donated by Timothy Crowley. It was built of stone, 46 feet by 20 feet, with high walls and a shingle roof supported by buttresses. It was demolished in 1973.
