In 1857 his sister Mary, who was living at Sydney, paid a deposit for his voyage to Australia. He arrived in 1857 aboard ‘Golconda’. His immigration records state his father had died, and his mother was living at Galway.
Martin married Mary Conheady in 1868 at Wollongong. They had several children –

In the Kiama District Land Holders Police Survey 1885, Martin Jordan had 100 acres at Macquarie River, Albion Park with 1 horse, 40 cattle and 30 pigs.
In 1903 Martin retired and leased his farm to Mr. Moffit.
Mary died in 1908 and Martin in 1910. They were buried at the Albion Park Catholic Cemetery.
