Denis and Margaret had several more children in the Illawarra, John b.1843, Bartholomew b.1844, Thomas b.1845, Mary b.1847, Denis b.1850, Jane b.1851, Margaret b.1853, Michael b. 1855, Henry b.1857, Charles b. 1859 and Louisa b. 1863.
Denis farmed land at Terragong (Dunmore/Jamberoo) in the 1860's.
His son John married Mary McEncroe from a neighbouring farm, in 1869. They had three children, Margaret, Denis and John Patrick before John's death in 1876.
Another son, Denis Ambrose Foley, married Mary's sister, Ellen Frances McEncroe in 1877. They had two sons, Denis Patrick and John Joseph (died June 1881, aged 14 months) before Denis Ambrose died just five months later in November 1881.
