20 June 1815 in Birmingham, John married Mary Ann Hill (daughter of James Hill and Catherine Hand)
John, with six others, including his wife Mary Ann, was arrested for ‘Uttering Forging Bank Notes. John was transported to Australia on the ship ‘Neptune’ in 1817, arriving in 1818. His wife, Mary Ann Bradney, travelled with her infant daughter, Emma, and was transported on the ‘Lord Wellington'.
John and Mary Ann had the following children;

Eliza Jane b.1821, Sydney (died Ambrose Manewell, drowned 1870, Canterbury)
John b.1822 (married Ademia Henry & Ann Louisa Nichols, died 1872, Jamberoo)
George b.1824 Parramatta (died 1824, Port Macquarie)
William b.1828 Parramatta (died 1829 Parramatta)
John Bradney worked as a brazier and tin man at the penal settlement in Port Macquarie. He was eventually appointed gaoler.
John died after illness from suspected Arsenic poisoning in 1824. His wife, Mary Ann was accused of poisoning his soup but acquitted. It is possible he was poisoned from the arsenic used in the production of tin which was his trade.
In 1843 at Jamberoo, John and Mary Ann’s son, John Bradney (21 years) married Ademia Bryce Henry (aged just 15 years). Ademia was the daughter of John and Margaret Henry (nee McSeveney). John Henry and family had come to Australia from Scotland in 1837, and settled at Jamberoo where Henry worked as a sawyer.
John and Ademia lived at Jamberoo on the farm today known as 'Clevehurst' on Jamberoo Road. They had the following known children;

Eliza b.1849 (married William Henry Vidler, died 1921, Parramatta)

Jane b.1852 (twin) (married William Forster, died 1886,Sydney)
George b.1855 (married Clara Mansfield, died 1933, Crookwell)
Brice Henry b.1857
Unnamed Male b.1860 (died 1860)
William Nelson b.1862 (married Annie Harrison, died 1938, VIC)
John Bradney led a double life, and had a second family with neighbour Anne Louisa Pugh Nichols. Anne was the daughter of John Pugh Nichols and Rebecca Moss.
John and Ann had eleven children;

Frederick William b.1863 (married Gertrude Williams, died 1948, Newtown)
Dulcie Ann b.1865 (died 1869, Jamberoo)
Thomas Arthur b.1867 (married Elizabeth Kirton, died 1934, Hurstville)
James Walter b.1869 (married Jessie Poulter, died 1932, Newtown)
Herbert b.1871 (married Amy McKay, died 1949, QLD)
Ademia Bradney died in 1863, aged 33, at Jamberoo.
In 1869, John married Anne Nichols. He died three years later at Jamberoo.
Ann Nichols (48) then married former convict, Samuel Clark (73) of Yellow Rock . When he died in 1901, he left his estate to his children, and left nothing to Anne.
