Edwin and Caroline had seven children;

Elizabeth b.1875 (married Alfred John Beckinsale, died 1972 Kogarah)

Sydney b.1885 Paddington (died 1888, Waverley)

Son, George Alfred married Emily Anne Henry 11 June 1913. They had no children.

George was apprenticed to Mr. Louis Robert Mood, Shellharbour wheelwright, but preferred carpentry work. He was well respected in the Shellharbour community as a builder and enthusiastic member of several clubs.

George died in 1928, the result of an accident at the Bass Point Quarry when he fell 25 feet from a hopper. He and was taken to Kiama Hospital where he later died. About 200 people marched in the funeral cortege.

When Ray Hockey was 4yrs old Mrs. Emily Brett, who lived next door at No. 8 Addison St. Shellharbour, gave Ray a bottle with a model boat inside. The inscription on the bottle stand reads ' To Ray from Mrs Brett Christmas 1920 ' The bottle is marked on the base Walkers Whiskey.

Paul Hockey (Ray's son) remembers his father telling him a story of when Ray was about 7 yrs old. Ray went looking for Santa Clause up the chimney of the fireplace in the old house at 6 Addison St, Shellharbour (which was later replaced with a red brick house). Ray's head became stuck in the chimney and George Brett from next door had to help free him. Last edited by: June Hockey
