Refers to 2 acres of land resumed from George Laurence Fuller for the purpose of building a new school.

Letters dated 19 May 1880, No 219, and 24 May 1880.
Provenance and SignifcanceWilliam James and Elizabeth (nee: Wenham) settled on the Bassett Darley Estate about 1856. They called their home at Dunmore, ‘Bravella’, meaning hills and vales a Cornish dialect.

William was heavily involved with the Wesleyan Church and local government, was Mayor of Shellharbour Municipality 1870 to 1871, and an Alderman from 1859 to his death in 1888. He also assisted with the building of the Churches, Presbyterian, Methodist and St. Paul’s Church of England in Shellharbour.

Minnamurra Public School replaced the old Peterborough School, which was situated on the rise on the hill, on the opposite side of Swamp Road.
