Receipt May 9 for Robert Smith for new bottom of to tub. Provenance and SignifcanceRobert and Ann Borrowdale, and their five children, Joseph, Robert, George, Isabella and John, arrived in Australia in 31 October 1854 on board the 'Stamboul'.
Members of the family eventually settled at Numbaa in the Shoalhaven.
Robert and Anne's granddaughter, Annie Borrowdale, married Robert Smith at Nowra in 1894. The couple moved to Stockyard Mountain at Albion Park and farmed at 'Cooby'.
Robert and Annie had six children; Charles, Vina (married Arthur Albert Robb), Amelia (married Frederick Richard Ball), Edward, George (married Rita Simpson) and Joseph.
The portrait of Robert Borrowdale, passed to his great grandson, Joseph Borrowdale Smith.
Henry William Parkinson was a tinsmith at Albion Park. The family home was attached to the shop which was on the corner of Tongarra Road and Russell Street. Henry made many of the town’s water tanks, and milk cans for farmers in the area.
