After Ben's death in 2001, the house lay empty and was vandalised.

When Kerry returned to 'Clover Hill' she salvaged a burnt window frame from Ben's tudor manor house which she restored and used as a frame for the painting.

Kerry incorporated aspects of Ben's life in the painting which she created as a tribute to him.

The painting includes the manor house, the scamp swimsuit models, cabbage trees at the farm, parachutes falling from the sky and Ben Turner's face looking down on it all.
CreatorSuttonberg, KerryProvenance and SignifcanceBen Turner, born in England in 1901, was a world record parachutist in England, a manufacturer of parachutes in Australia in the 1940s, and the designer of the 'Scamp' swimsuit.

He was a pilot and established Southern Cross Air, operating in the South Coast area. Ben retired in 1949 and moved to 'Clover Hill' with his wife Jean and their English sheep dog, Rover.

In the 1970s, the historic Clover Hill homestead burnt down, and the NWPS acquired his property as part of Macquarie Pass National Park. Despite all this, Ben built his English Tudor style Manor House, known locally as 'Ben's Folly'.

It was built around huge rock formations on the property, the rocks also forming part of the interior of the building. Ben died at 'Clover Hill' in May 2001.
