TitleShellharbour Village ArchaeologyObject TypeArchaeologyDatec.1850-1900DescriptionArchaeology including ceramic sherds unearthed during installation of new Playground equipment at Little Park, Shellharbour Village, February 2018.
According to assessments carried out by the Office of Environment and Heritage NSW, 'The artefact identified in the northern auguring pit is a ceramic type which dates from the mid to later 1800s. The view of the side of the trench indicates this artefact did not appear to be part of a larger deposit, but the soil section did appear to have some additional (although limited) artefacts in it. This could be an isolated rubbish pit, but it could could equally be indicative of an archaeological deposit from the later half from the mid to late 19th century linked to the above occupation'.
