They had one daughter, Zelma.
William served as alderman on Shellharbour Council and was a strong supporter of the Agricultural, Horticultural and Industrial Society (AHI).
After William's death in 1943, Alice and Zelma carried on the business. When Alice died in 1952, the store was sold to George Harold Smith.
