The original garage on this site was built by Edward (Ted) Thomas.
It was leased by Frank Crew, and later by his brother Alf Crew.
Frank Crew operated the garage and mechanical business, while his wife drove the Ford cars carrying passengers to and from town, the railway station and Lake Illawarra and also delivered bread, mail etc.
Crew's sold to Hore's in the 1930's.
The Shellharbour Service Centre ceased operations Friday 16 July 2021, after almost 100 years servicing Shellharbour Village.
