Provenance and SignifcanceThis tapestry originated from a Shellharbour College TAFE oral history project 1983-1985. Sue Edmond and Jean Clarke Tafe teachers initiated project. The project also resulted in the publication of 'Oaks and Folks' oral history book.

Two tapestries were completed as part of the project. They both depicted Oak Flats past and present.

The first tapestry was completed in early 1985 and its first public appearance was at a 'women's work' display.DonorShellharbour City Council
