Knee length A-line satin wedding dress with three quarter sleeves and lace inserts in the collar, skirt and sleeves of dress.
Sleeves are tapered at the wrist.
The satin belt has press studs and a mother of pearl buckle and and Art Deco style clasp.
Paper thin gold wedding band, worn down from use. Ring in Saunders Jewellery Specialists Box.Provenance and SignifcanceThis wedding dress and ring cushion belonged to Pearl Thomas (nee Parrish) of Foxground, NSW and was worn on her marriage to Victor Thomas, son of Harry and Mary Thomas, in 1937.
Victor grew up at the family's 'Clover Hill' farm, Macquarie Pass. The family later moved to 'St Ives; at Croom.
Victor and Pearl were married at St. Paul's Church of England Shellharbour.
The wedding dress cost 15 shillings which equalled a whole weeks pay.
Victor and Pearl farmed at 'Sunray Farm' Berkeley and continued breeding Harry and Mary Thomas' 'St. Ives Australian Illawarra Shorthorn' on 'Sunray Farm'.DonorThomas, Bailey|Whatman, Joyce
