John Haddin came to Australia in the 1840's with his wife Jane Cummins Fleming. They settled in the Illawarra. John began work as a bookkeeper about 1844, under the engagement of John Terry Hughes, owner of the Terry's Meadows Estate (Albion Park). Jane was in charge of the dairy on the estate.
After some years at Albion Park it is believed John Haddin, with his son James Fleming Haddin, commenced dairying at Dunmore on the estate of George Laurence Fuller.
James Fleming Haddin remained at his parents Dunmore farm before purchasing 'Coral Grove' at Albion Park - 169 acres comprising lots 17-19 and lot 21 of the original Terry's Meadows Estate.
James Fleming Haddin was a director of Dairy Farmers Milk Cooperative from 1907 - 1920. He was married twice, to Mary Hazelton and Sophia King.
When John retired from dairy farming c.1917, he moved to Wollongong. 'Coral Grove' was leased to Mrs Johnston until about 1919.
In 1920, John Couzens took over the lease from Mrs Johnston.
About 1945 the Haddin family sold 'Coral Grove' to William Williams. It was sold again c.1948 to Ronald Claude Johnson.
John Frederick Shepherd next farmed 'Coral Grove', before moving to Mount Terry farm in 1953.
