Two solid slabs of timber retrieved from Vine Cottage', Albion Park, with various layers of wallpaper in patches as well as remnants of old newspapers pasted on them.Provenance and SignifcanceThese timber wall slabs were used in the construction of 'Vine Cottage', Tongarra Road, Albion Park.
'Vine Cottage' was the home of Lionel and Sarah Hurry (nee Denniss), and their daughter Albertina.
The slabs show typical construction methods of homes in Albion Park in the mid to late 19th century and how families made the most of materials at hand to their benefit.
