NameResthavenTypeBuildingFarmGeolocation[1] DescriptionResthaven has local historic associations with George Laurence Fuller of Dunmore House. Fuller was a large 19th century landholder who leased his land to tenant farmers on his Dunmore estate.
GL Fuller was a generous citizen and was instrumental in the early development of the area, especially relating to the dairy industry.
The dwelling was probably built as a tenant farm house for the Dunmore estate with Irvine and Sarah martin recorded as leasing 165 acres from Fuller from c.1876-1916.
From 1917 Leo O'Dwyer, local journalist and one time publisher and his wife Catherine (nee Martin) leased the farm from the Fuller's and spent many years at Resthaven.
