'Green Gables' was built in 1937 by Pendrill & Blackett. The clay bricks were all handmade. It was the home of Hedley Johnson and family. Hedley was born at Foxground and grew up on the family farm at Jasper's Brush. He worked for stock and station agents King & Sons at Kiama, eventually trading as Hedley Johnson Pty Ltd, one of the country's premier stock and station agencies.
