Nine years later in 1863, Charles age 35 and Mary age 28 arrived in Australia aboard ‘John Vanner’, with their children;

Edward b.1863 (died 1950, Darlinghurst)
Charles was listed as a labourer who could neither read nor write. The family was sponsored to come out, by John McCrory.
The McGlinchey’s settled at Kiama and had several more children;
Denis b.1865 (died 1873, Kiama)
Hugh b.1866 (died 1886, Kiama) Hugh died the result of burns received by an explosion of gunpowder.
Annie Elizabeth b.1869 (married Thomas O’Brien, died 1941, Waratah)
Margaret Elizabeth b.1870 (married William James Whiting, died 1959, Wollongong)
Bella Bridget b.1873 (Twin - died 1958, Kiama)
Mary Theresa b.1873 (Twin - married Michael Molloy, Died 1939, Randwick)
Cecelia/Cicely b.1875 (married Harold Murphy, died 1932, Paddington)
Charles set up a business, transporting goods from Gerringong and Kiama, to be shipped to Sydney.
In 1881, Charles and Mary’s son Robert McGlinchey married Annie Margaret Farragher, daughter of Thomas Farragher and Mary Carew, from a neighbouring farm.
Robert and Annie had six children; Charles, Mary Anne , Florence Mary, Rita Marie, Robert and Alice. Alice died in infancy, and Mary Anne when she was just 18 years old.
Robert worked several jobs over the years, including as a carter and publican.
Charles and Mary McGlinchey’s son, Charles b.1861 (brother of Robert), married Agnes Norah Timbs, daughter of Gabriel Timbs and Ellen O’Gorman. Charles Gabriel worked as a blacksmith and also used to serve as a veterinarian, when called upon. He was not a qualified vet, however his experience handling horses and animals on the farm meant he continued to provide that service until his death in 1955.
Charles and Agnes Norah had six children, Mary Elizabeth, Charles Gabriel, Herbert V, Theodore, Lily Gertrude, and Kathleen.
Charles Gabriel McGlinchey married Margaret Walsh at Kiama in 1918. Their son Charles 'Peter' Austin McGlinchey was born at the family farm 'Myree Hill' in 1929. Peter attended Shellharbour Public School, and later Christian Bros College in Wollongong, and rode his horse to and from Dunmore Station. Peter was an active member of the Junior Farmers in his youth and held the office of president, and president of the South Coast and Tablelands Agricultural Union.
The original McGlinchey farm 'Culwalla' was visible from the later family property 'Myree Hill' at Jamberoo.
