Degotardi

DESCRIPTION

NameDegotardiDescriptionHenry Charles Degotardi did much to promote Lake Illawarra South as a tourist area, and owned much property in that area.

Henry was born at Balmain in 1880 to John Henry and Sidonia Harriet Degotardi (nee Berthold).

In 1901, Henry married Isabel Walker. They had two sons, Albert Charles John b.1902, and Harold Edward b.1904.

Henry served as alderman on Shellharbour Council and joined the NSW Police Force where he worked as Inspector of Weights and Measures.

The family moved back to Balmain where he died in 1935, aged 54 years. Isabel died in 1954, aged 81 years.
