NameShellharbour View ClubDate1972AddressWarillaDescriptionIn March 1972 there was a morning tea arranged to find out how much support could, or would be given if a club was started in Shellharbour No. 149. 27 ladies attended.
The inaugural luncheon meeting was then set for the second Thursday in April, and since then meetings are held the second Thursday of the month. A committee had been formed and the top management from Sydney was expected. The luncheon was held at the Workers Club and the cost was $2.00.
Shellharbour belongs to Zone 2. There are 11 clubs, and a Zone councillor.
As women, we have a voice through supporting different resolutions every year when we vote on different subjects and topics, carried, and go to Conventions in September, where we discuss and debate on National level that are brought to Parliament. Many a good outcome has been achieved on National level with VIEW Clubs in every State now.
The emphasis of the VIEW Club is still friendship first, having fun and lots of laughter.
