The school commenced with Year 7 students in temporary demountables at the rear of the Presbytery in 1982, with Principal Br. Matt Murphy provided from the Christian Brothers. (Ref. A.M.Cluff St. Joseph’s Project Committee).
In late 1982, Stage 1 was completed and students moved into the new school, officially opened on 13 March 1983.
Brother Matt Murphy saw the first Year 10 complete their School Certificate.
In 1985 Mr. Barry Buchanan took over as Principal and introduced Camps/Retreats and sporting events.
By 1987 saw the first year 12 graduate. During 1996-7 under Mr. Noel Meddows, the school became known as St. Josephs Catholic High School.
1998-2002 Mr. Frank Leonard led St. Joseph’s into a new millennium when extensions were made to accommodate 1030 students.
