Previously pupils were boarded at Windang Primary School until they moved in July 1954 to the new four roomed timber building, erected on the site at Lake Illawarra South.
The Parents and Citizens Association was formed in May 1954 and some of its early purchases included a new piano, duplicator and flagpole.
The school was officially opened on 5 March 1955 by Mr. R.J. Heffron Deputy Premier NSW and Minister for Education.
