He married Mary Ann Scanlan at Albion Park Catholic Church on the 2nd June, 1886. He started a coach business in the mid 1890s which ran for many years. Gabriel was elected Town Clerk of the Municipality of Shellharbour on the 2nd May, 1906. He served in this position for 31 years until he resigned in 1937. He also held the position of Clerk of Jamberoo Municipality from September 1907 until he resigned in December 1933.LocationAlbion Park
