Isabella Croker’s Croom Estate was advertised for sale in August 1840. Ebenezer purchased 1280 acres for 5 shillings an acre in 1852.
Russell cleared the land and planted wheat and potatoes, and later changed to dairy farming. He was an Alderman on Shellharbour Municipal Council 1859-1864.
