Dawes Bros built the brick school and a teacher's residence at a cost of 1550 pounds. The building was completed in 1892 and opened on the 31st January, 1893 by F B Sutton, Minister for Public Instruction. The school building was used until 1963 when additional classrooms were built to house the growing student population.
