He was a Director and Chairman of the Shellharbour Steam Navigation Company, first Chairman of the Illawarra Central Co-operative Dairy Company, Albion Park Show President and one of the exhibitors at the first Albion Park Show. He was recognised as one of the truly great men of the district. Fraser, John died 22nd November 1901. A monument to perpetuate his memory was unveiled in Croome Cemetery by Archibald Campbell MP in June 1903. The inscription reads: Erected to the memory of Fraser, John JP by the residents of Albion Park and surrounding districts in token of the many public services rendered by him.
