The organisation opened as Lake Illawarra Police Citizens Boys Club.

Today, the PCYC offers unique activities including cycling, KidzCare, gynmastics, wrestling, tae kwon do, and boxing to name a few.

The president was H.A. Bronner Sergeant 1st Class, and the secretary was J.A. Ireland, Sergeant 3rd Class.
