Their first activities were held at the Shellharbour Surf Club Hall until the Club purchased an old house owned by the Clay family on the 26th June 1953. This old house was the former 'Peterborough Store'. The old house was renovated in September 1953 for Club use and a liquor licence was granted in 1956. The building was extended in 1957 and again in 1962. In 1969 the first storey auditorium was added to the building.
