In 1862, He married Elizabeth (Martha) Daley in 1893. Martha was the daughter of Pat Geraghty. David and Martha had 6 children all born at 'Mt Terry' farm, Albion Park. David farmed at Mt Terry until 1921. He was a good judge of cattle and horses and had a quality herd of dairy Shorthorns. Martha was a fine dressmaker and made her own wedding gown.
