It was situated at The Boulevarde, Oak Flats beside a stone wharf. 'Illawarra House' was managed at Oak Flats by the Orange Family for the Rural Land Co. In 1934, the building was dismantled and moved piece by piece on a flatbed truck to the current location in Reddall Parade, Lake Illawarra South.
