TitleBrown Bass caught in Macquarie RivuletPhoto Number000524Date1964DescriptionThese Brown Bass were caught by Bill Farquhar in Macquarie Rivulet in 1964. Their total weight was 17lbs (pounds). Weight of the first fish was not recorded. The second fish weighed 5&1/4 lbs, the third fish 6&3/4 lbs. The photo and weights were recorded 14 hours after capture. The conservative estimate of shrinkage after death over that period was 10%. All fish were caught in the same hole in Macquarie Rivulet some distance above the junction with Yellow Rock Creek. The time was late afternoon, November 1964. The weather was cloudy and dull with a cold blistery southerly wind. All fish were caught on a lure, not the lure in the photo. The rod used was a William Southam split cane spinning rod with an Abumatic Synchio drag reel, loaded with Abulon monofilament 5-6 lb line.PlaceMacquarie RivuletLocationAlbion ParkStudioArthur CratchleyDonorBlow, Doug
