NameSnodgrassDescriptionLeicester Curzon Snodgrass was born in 29 October 1883 at the Macleay River, South Grafton, to Charles and Frances Snodgrass (nee Dixon).
He followed his father's footsteps and trained as a teacher. He was appointed pupil teacher at Canley Vale Public School in 1900. He next went to Paddington Public School, and Waterloo Public School.
In 1908 at Albion Park, he married Edith McGill, daughter of Archibald and Margaret (nee Bovard) of Albion Park. Archibald and Margaret lost their four eldest children to Diphtheria in 1883. They are buried at the Albion Park Pioneer Cemetery.
In 1910, Leicester and Edith's daughter, Edith Viva was born at Clarence Cottage, South Grafton.
A newspaper article from 1910 reads Leicester and Edith were farewelled by their friends from Nana Glen (Coffs harbour), on their departure to Leura in the Blue Mountains.
The 1913 Electoral Roll shows Leicester and Edith, farming at Green Mountain (Yellow Rock), which was where Edith's parents, the McGill's lived.
About the same time, Leicester and family moved to Dorrigo to farm and auctioneer.
In 1915, their second daughter Thora Ethel was born at Grafton.
Leicester taught at Rocky Creek near Lismore, Beaumont School near Cambewarra and Croom School. By 1925, he was teaching at Berkeley Public School.
Leicester, Edith and children lived at 'The Pines', Tongarra Road, Albion Park.
Leicester taught at Avondale School for more than six years, before being transferred to Tullimbar School in 1943. He retired in 1948.
Edith Viva married Archie Chittick in 1939. They farmed at 'Ellerslie', Kangaroo Valley. She also became a teacher.
Thora married Richard Foran at Wollongong in 1934.
Lilian (Lily) Beatrice McGill, sister of Edith Snodgrass Snr, moved to the 'The Pines' at Albion Park, after she retired from working her parents former farm at Yellow Rock.
