TitleDunmore QuarryPhoto Number008119Datec. Mid 1920'sDescriptionLoco built by Manning Wardle & Co, Leeds, England.
Their standard H-class design, builder’s number 1780 of 1911. Couldn’t arrived at Dunmore before 1924, ex- MWS&DB, Potts Hill reservoir construction. Also, other photos show ‘Western’ trucks just arrived and it would have taken several months to assemble that steam shovel. Maybe mid-1920s. Also, most machinery would probably have been railed in and that couldn’t occur until the railway siding from Shellharbour stn was finished. Note the extra heavy sleeper used under the steam shovel’s wide-gauge track (10ft gauge?)
