John Beatson died in May 1838 before the ship sailed. John’s wife Christina (nee McCallum) left Scotland with ten of their children. Their daughter Cora, remained in Scotland with her family.
On board the 'St George' were also the families of Andrew McGill and Ewan Campbell.

Catherine bn. 1817 Scotland 1817 (Married Samuel West. Died Waterloo 1886)
John bn.1818 Scotland (Married Mary Greenlees. Was a farmer and horse trader. Opened a general store in 1856, died 1891, Grafton)
