Provenance and SignifcanceThis handkerchief belonged to Sophia Thomas, oldest child of William and Jane Thomas (nee Pearson).

Sophia was born at Marshall Mount 7 April 1877.

After her marriage to Frank Riley, the couple moved to Mortdale until their retirement in 1950.

Sophia and Frank had two children Mavis 1915 and Colin 1918.
