Shaban came to Australia in 1935 to join his brother Mick, who had been writing to Shaban, to help him in his growing fruit business in Sydney.
Shaban left his wife and child (Fetiye) at home until he established himself.
At the outbreak of World War Two Shaban and his family were cut off, however at the end of the war Dourakadin and Fetiye were able to join him in Australia arriving in Melbourne 1946 after 11yrs separation.
Shaban met them in Melbourne and travelled to Corrimal where they lived with his brother's family for six months before moving to Windang.
In the 1940's Shaban had bought land on Shellharbour Rd. and the family moved to the Shellharbour Municipality.
Shaban purchased land in the Warilla district and on 50 acres Shaban started Lake Windermere Caravan Park, and the Arapali family remain the owners.
Warilla Cake shop was started by Fetiye and her husband in 1967 and soon became successful. They supplied local businesses in the area.
Fetiye's brother David and sister Carol, eventually took over and continued the business.
